Can you honestly say that your company achieved all its goals and objectives that it set previously last year? If not, then Hoshin Planning is a powerful tool you can use to make it happen.

Our event will be kicked off by a keynote from Pete Bunin, VP of Kaiser Aluminum, who will highlight the use of Hoshin Planning in the successful transformation and rebirth of the Trentwood mill operation.  Pat Ryan of RCG Strategies will then lead us through a hands-on approach to learning the proven methods of Hoshin Planning that organizations like Danaher, Lantech, 3M, Bank of America, HP, Bridgestone Tire, Kaiser Aluminum, Toyota, and others have used to powerfully align and focus efforts that achieve strategic breakthroughs, resulting in increased customer satisfaction and profits.

What is Hoshin Planning?

Also known as Hoshin Kanri or Policy Deployment, Hoshin Planning is not the classic MBO-style strategic planning process used by most companies or taught in business schools.  It is a dynamic, agile methodology that (1) translates each strategic objective into an extensive and aligned set of action plans throughout the organization via the give-and-take process known as “catchball”, and (2) creates simple but effective  monitoring and adjustment of the plan through the use of a three-level review system – enabling the organization to rapidly adjust to new knowledge and changing conditions.

Who should attend?

CEOs, senior management and top level managers responsible for setting the direction of the company should attend.  Managers from organizations that have already or are planning on implementing Lean are also encouraged to attend.

Event Speakers

Pete Bunin joined Kaiser Aluminum in 1996 and is currently serving as its executive VP and GM of Operations.  Prior to this, he held senior management roles with Ampco Metals and Outokumpu Copper.  Mr. Bunin’s credentials include an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

Pat Ryan is the founder of RCG Strategies, a consulting firm specializing in strategic planning, policy deployment, supply chain management, new product development, lean transformation initiatives and training programs to clients around the world.  Mr. Ryan brings over 35 years of experience in these areas, including a variety of former executive management roles in several Fortune 100 corporations.

  1. Mark Collins says:

Please send me information about the Gesa Smartmap Expo for September 2010.

    Can you also advise -

    a) if there are any speaking opportunities. I have recently completed a survey of success stories in Energy Managament, and I am looking for opportunities to present the findings.

    b) if there are opportunities for our clients to exhibit their software products (Performance Management, Energy Management, Vineyard Management and Wine Production).

    Thank you
