The workshop provides a practical overview, real-world success stories, and the hands-on tools needed to apply Lean principles to your organization. The focus is to learn how to deploy Lean in the manufacturing work environment to yield efficiency and improvement. These same tools can also be used across any industry to eliminate waste and improve efficiencies.

Interact with people from other industries. Apply the tools in a simulation: 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Batch Size Reduction, Standardized Work

Participants will:

  • Learn how to define value from your customer’s perspective and identify l waste.
  • Understand various lean concepts and be able to apply them to simple improvement projects
  • Be guided through the transformation of an imaginary company - from a traditional manufacturing environment to a lean work environment.
  • Undergo three levels of simulation will be conducted with training and discussion between sessions

A high level of involvement from class attendees is required.

This in-person free workshop will provide a foundational understanding of supply chain principles, metrics, tools & technology.  Followed by a deeper dive into best practices to support overall business strategy and supply chain optimization - creating value every step of the way.

By taking the time to analyze and understand the different components of successful supply chain practices you will be able to identify more opportunities to optimize your efforts.

Workshop content and exercises will help to:

  • Provide a framework for understanding what is between your Current State and your Goals
  • Enable your organization to be more proactive in your purchasing efforts
  • Understand supplier partnerships and leverage data to optimize your approach
  • Better understand risk as a reality and how proactive efforts can minimize the negative impact of unexpected changes
  • Get engaged with the development of supply chain efficiencies to increase understanding of how cost rolls up, what changes save money, and the value of information

 In-Person Course:

  • Duration: 7 hours,  8:00 am – 3:00 pm (includes 30 minutes for lunch and two 15 min breaks)
