Trans-Ocean is a pioneer in the introduction of branded surimi seafood to consumer markets throughout the United States. It opened its 10,000 square-foot facility in Bellingham, Washington in 1985. In 1997 Trans-Ocean acquired a company and with it the rights to market and brand its own retail product. It launched its own product line and by 2005, Trans-Ocean had become the largest branded retail surimi producer in the U.S. Today Trans-Ocean processes surimi out of a 50,000 square foot facility. It is the country’s leading surimi seafood processor and its branded products are available in supermarkets nationwide.
