Out of Office: Time Away From the Cubicle

Friday, August 4, 2017 | Manufactured in WA Highlight

Wine barrel roomArtifex Wine Co, located in Walla Walla, is one of the few custom crush wineries in Washington State. In Artifex, the art of winemaking and the witty of manufacturing intersect. They are a manufacturing company in the strict sense of the concept with only one exception: the output of its manufacturing process is a living thing – wine.  Oh! and the facility smells much better than the factory where I used to work as a QA Sr. Manager. Artifex’s team provides services to wineries that prefers to focus in the artistic aspect of creating an amazing wine, relying on experts in process and control to make sure that their dreamt of product is crafted and bottled. With state-of-the-art facilities and a deep-seated know-how, the whole team contributes to manufacture wine according to their clients’ precise specifications.

Jean-François, Ariane, Sophia, Ross, Mike, Jenna, and Salvador hosted me for two days during which I had the wine making roomopportunity to compare firsthand the wine making practices in Walla Walla with the ones in my hometown (Jerez de la Frontera). And I must say I learned, A LOT.

As a result of my visit to Artifex Wine Co and the answers from its team to my countless questions, I have improved my vision of the wine industry scene in Washington.  I have also confirmed that definitely it is an important piece in the economy growth generation in the Great State of Washington.
