Hi, I’m Sarah Stuart. I’m the North King County Account Executive with Impact Washington. Recently, I had a client ask me why they should attend our ISO 9001/AS9100 Standards Change One Day Seminar. I’m quite passionate about this topic and gave a lot of thought to my response.

What it comes down to is this: there have been some changes to the standards that will affect YOUR company. Impact Washington has put together a program that will help you to understand and implement those in the changes most effective way possible. Why choose our program? Here is why:

This seminar was put together at the request of YOU – our clients – and the format was based on YOUR suggestions on how to make it successful.

2) We Won’t Waste Your Time

We specifically built this seminar for companies who are already certified. We love when new companies decide to become certified, and applaud their new journey, but this is not that seminar. This is for participants who are certified, and who have been in the Quality Profession for a while; perhaps even decades. In other words, this will not be a new implementation seminar. This will be a changes seminar. We believe targeting this seminar will allow our instructors to be more effective in answering particular questions in a short amount of time, allowing you to maximize yours.

3) We’ll Focus On What’s Important

We have heard from our clients that only some of the new ISO requirements are confusing. The AS9100 additions are either the same as the additions in Rev C or they are tied to one of the new ISO requirements. This commonality of questions has allowed us to scope the seminar to one day. That being said, if you have questions that are not common, we still have the capacity to address your concerns.

4) We’ll Break It Down

While the questions are finite, we recognize the answers are as individual as the company asking the question. This is why we have opted to limit attendance to 20 people, and use two rooms for the afternoon sessions. This will allow each participant to get individual answers to their questions, but still allow the group to learn from each other.

While we built this seminar for the experienced, we have a path for those who are not as experienced. We anticipate people may want to attend with their team, and there may be a wide variety of knowledge. This is why we have split the day into two sessions: A general session in the morning and an afternoon breakout. This will allow for more general training on certain aspects of the standards changes for some, while others can focus specifically on what their company needs to do to meet the revisions.

5) We’ll Learn From the Best

I know I will sound like I am selling when I say this, but we are really lucky to have solid professionals such as The Busers in our own backyard. Really. These guys are great. I have known Marcia since I was a young Production Supervisor back in the late 80’s when we worked at Precision Castparts. Aerospace has been our life. She was the Quality Manager that taught me to embrace process and systems thinking. If I had a dollar for every time she said, “Really??? The guy has been here 18 years, and your root cause is lack of training? How is that going to fix anything?” Well, I would be typing this from a very warm beach.

What I know is you won’t make a mistake in listening to their well-educated (and entertaining!) thoughts on implementing the new revision. Marcia is a certified lead auditor by Exemplar Global for ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. She has never worked for any registrar, always choosing to be on the implementation end as this is her passion. She has completed the IAQG-Sanctioned AS9100 Aerospace Auditor Transition Training (AATT) course as well as several other AS9100 specific courses. She has attended the 2016 and 2014 AAQG Aerospace Auditors Workshop this. Attending these workshops is an indication of her dedication in understanding a new standard and its ramifications before it is even published.

Tristan is a principle auditor through Exemplar Global for ISO 9001 and has been doing audits for TUV Rheinland. He has passed the AATT, attended the same aerospace auditor workshops Marcia has, and is working on the required number of 3rd party audit days to become a certified aerospace auditor. All of the companies who have engaged the Busers to help them implement their QMS and contracted with a registrar to become registered have successfully done so.

While I am not a main presenter, you should know that I have been successfully implementing ISO 9001 and AS9100 for almost 20 years and I haven’t had a company fail yet regardless of certifying body. I will be there to lend my expertise and to help answer any questions.

6) We’ll Keep It Real

It is not lost on us that there will be a small group of highly trained professionals in the room who have been doing this a long time. The discussion will be lively!
