Impact Washington Provides Business Advisory Services for Parker-Helac Corporation

Company Profile

Parker-Helac is a growing designer and manufacturer of rotary actuators used on various types of construction equipment. Parker-Helac employs over 300 people at its 155,000 square foot manufacturing plant located in Enumclaw, Washington.

Impact Washington - NIST MEP was introduced to Heloc Corporation in 2001. In 2017, Helac was acquired by Parker Hannifin Corporation

Situation

Impact Washington- NIST MEP along with Resource Partner Pat Ryan worked on a Hoshin Planning/Policy Deployment project. Prior to the work being completed, Dean Weyer requested Pat's support as a business advisor to Parker-Helac in support of its day-to-day operational issues in various organizational departments (e.g. engineering, purchasing, human resources and manufacturing).

Solution

The business advisory services were provided via meetings, telephone and e-mail on an as-needed basis.

Results

The benefits to Parker-Helac were twofold. By using Pat's manufacturing expertise, the company was able to significantly reduce in-house time to research answers to business questions, and they could use him as a sounding board for making ongoing business decisions.

"Impact Washington- NIST MEP provided, as needed, business advice on a periodic basis. The purpose of the project was to use the extensive business experience of Pat Ryan to assist in improving the overall day to day business operations of Helac."
